@sparty1998 I think you’re good. You’re GPA is pretty good for MSU & it helps a ton that your math & eng requirements are done and you have 54 credits! I applied too on the day it opened. Today is the 8 week mark. Hopefully we hear something in the next couple of weeks.
I submitted my grades to MSU today but I’m nervous about not getting accepted. My GPA is 2.88 I completed all of the math and english requirements. I have 70 credits at Macomb Community College. I did really bad my first two semesters at Macomb and have 4 withdrawals. My last three semesters my average GPA has been 3.3+. What do you guys think my chances are? I am also taking classes right now to hopefully boost my GPA to above 2.9. My brother is a student at MSU and I’m just praying I get in.
@msuf10 I think that you have a fair chance. I mean having the 70 credits + the requirements done is a big plus. Yeah your GPA isn’t great, but as long as you have some good extra curriculars & wrote some good personal statements then you have a good chance. MSU looks for quality people to accept, not just ridiculously smart people! And you have a steady incline in your GPA which is good too! Let me know how it goes for ya. Hope to see you next fall

Yeah that’s what I’ve read. I’m worried they will want to see my spring grades & I won’t be able to know if I’m in until mid May. Idk what i’ll do about dorms at that point…

Mine is under review but I feel like I wont get accepted because i have a 2.7, even with my 3.3 gpa last semester

generally what do you guys think the admission office is looking for, for transfer students? i.e gpa, credits, personal statement?
@alyssar4 I finished my math and English requirements and I have about 38 credits. ( 42 by next fall)
Also do you guys think being a first generation college student would maybe play apart in getting in, remember i have a 3.18 with 52 credits
@ajawsneed I mean I think you still have a pretty good chance considering you will be going as a junior. Keep us updated!!
@sparty1998 I think you’re good to go. Having more than 28 credits is good as well as a 3.18. That’s good enough for State!

My application is currently under review!
I applied last year as a freshman and got accepted yet stupidly decided not to go. My current Northern Michigan University GPA is 3.7 and my high school GPA was 4.2. I’ll have 34 credits by the spring. Currently taking the math requirement this semester, but I am a bit worried about the English requirement because my ap scores are fulfilling that and they still don’t seem to have those even though they were sent over a month ago and now my application is being reviewed! I do plan to call tomorrow about that because it’s stressing me. I’ll be going in as a sophomore majoring in zoology with a zoo and aquarium science concentration. I’m really hoping to hear back soon because a couple weeks ago the admissions office said they typically don’t have decisions out until June/July and I’m trying to live in an apartment.
