MSU Fall 2018 Transfer Students

@lajumper12 Wow they told you not till June or July? That seems really late. I’ve heard mid Febuary as the typical time people hear back! and I’m also a freshman applying for my sophomore year, and I’m going into environmental biology & zoology as well!! Except I want to live in the dorms!

Mine switched today! I got in! Now they’re just waiting to see if im in for the business college or not!!! Im so happy, i hope i see everyone here next year!

How long once your application was put into review did it take for you to find out?

Only a week or so

@sparty1998 Congratulations!!

@sparty1998 wow you heard back fast!! Congratulations! that’s so exciting! Did you receive an email or did they just update your portal?

Does anyone here know how applying to a residential college at MSU affects your time frame for hearing a decision? Also, can you be denied admission to a specific college but be admitted to the university?

I’m not sure how that affects the decision making time frame, but you can be admitted to the university and denied admission to a specific college I’m pretty sure.

Hey guys, I just got an update! So while MSU thinks i’ll do good at their school or whatever, they want to see my current semester grades before officially admitting me. This is what I thought would happen!! (since im currently taking my math & english requirements) I’m still excited!!

Hey guys, I was in the same position as all of you last year. Stressing about getting into MSU and whatnot, and now I currently write this from my dorm! To give all of you that are waiting some confidence…

My credentials when accepted were:
GPA: 2.98 w/ 28 credits coming from Oakland Community College (OCC)
Since I had 28 credits I won’t list my high school credentials, as MSU doesn’t look at them after this point.

I was accepted on August 19th for the Fall semester (YES AUGUST 19th)
I had about a week to prepare, financial aid, was put on hold as well as my bill and I was auto-assigned a dorm and roommate, everything was pretty much set to go 3 days before move-in. Financial aid was figured out at a later date and I was able to start classes and begin life as an MSU student the same as any other. My point is don’t stress, you all got this and even though I don’t know any of your faces, I’m sure i’ll see ya around

@CCmsu20 Wow! I think I will be fine too, just not accepted until May. Thank you for reassuring us  What dorm did you get put into? Was your roomate cool? I’m worried about having to go in blind, but I think it’ll be alright. I’m easy to get along with.

I applied January 10th and just heard back today, January 25th!!! Only 2 weeks!! I GOT ACCEPTED AND AM SO EXCITED!! Good luck everyone!!

@kenzierose Congratulations! What did you have listed as your preferred major? if you don’t mind my asking.

my preferred major is Animal Science

Still waiting to hear back, but I think that’s common for James Madison… at least I hope.

I’m still waiting too…

Same still waiting hopefully soon.

I’m attending OCC right now, and I’m planning on transferring for my sophomore at MSU. I wanted to know if your ACT/SAT scores came into play.
