So, tell me if you think I can get in. My stats are clearly below average compared to the ones on the board, but I need to know the odds!

no, ur stats are pretty solid. good luck! i did not apply here tho; i did apply villanova–that was also a nov. 1 (so early!!!)

i applied to michigan state’s program but heard of the 10 they accept 8 are from michigan and i am from florida.

Buckwald, what are your stats like?

1510 SAT, 4.3 GPA, top 10% of class, loads of ECs and hospital work.

buckwald, did you do any significant research?

nope, but i worked a lot in ER division of hospital.

Did you get an e-mail confirming receipt of application within 5 business days of submission as it said in the instructions?

no i did not

I did. They said that they had rec’d both my application fee and my my appication.

Qwerty-- Did you apply too?

dude i applied to the program at MSU university as well.
I havent gotten a reciept notice yet so im kind of worried. Im gonna call them today even thou they say they prefer email. Also they only accept 2 kids out fo state and im form California. Here is a brief over view of my stats. please tell me my chances because they only accept 2 out of stats kids:

1560 SAT
800 -Math2c
800 Physics
750 - Writing
Gpa -4.0 unW
Gpa - 4.933 W
8 AP’s with 5’s and 2 4’s
alot of hospital work…

for some reason i feel they accept more than 2 out of state, but i think your chances are great! because the two they accept will propably get into a higher ranked program and choose that over Michigan State’s program.

Hey buckwald, can you evaluate my chances as well?

Anyone, please feel free to as well. Thanks.

Pretty good, antique. I have 1460 SAT, but i want to take the ACT just to see how i place

antique, if you live in Michigan than you have a great chance of getting into MSU’s program!

Thanks for the encouragement Buckwald, but if there are a lot more people with your kind of stats then I highly doubt that (even if you are out of state)!

I’m not expecting to even get an interview. This was my “Why not?” application. lol.

Well, the main thing I would suggest to you seniors is to have faith, and don’t just join a club just because it looks good on a resume. That never works, and they will see right through it. As long as you have 3-5 solid activities (sports, clubs, etc.) that you are in and dedicated to, I think you will do okay, assuming the scores and whatnot are good.

As to the quota issue, yes, it is true that they accept majority Michigan residents. But, if any of you are griping about this, think about the UIC program – you can’t even apply if you’re out of state. In any case, good luck to all of you who are applying. Do what you can and leave the rest to God.

how does msu compare to other national universities(public or private). i am going for business and saw that msu is ranked right behind fordham(where i already applied) in the us news report rankings. im wondering if i should apply or not they sent me a letter today saying i could get up to a full ride because im national merit semifinalist

Hey spydersport,

I’m in MI also…wanted to ask you a couple of questions about ur Medical Club because I’m doing something similar at my school.

What’s your AIM…it would be a lot easier to chat…lol

Thanks
