MU or LUC?

I’m pretty interested in attending either Marquette or Loyola university Chicago. I like that they’re both catholic/Jesuit universities, in major cities, near lake Michigan, an their sizes are in the range that I’m looking for. The only advantage of Loyola is that it’s closer to my house. I can almost guarantee that I can get into both. Are there any suggestions/advise that I can use when making my decision?

What do you want to major in?

Most likely political science

As a Marquette alumnus (Eng. '83) I know that the poli-sci major is very strong. More so with the Les Aspin Center Marquette program in Washignton were you can intern or study for a semester or summer. Go to this link: [Les Aspin Center | Academic Courses](<a href=“The Les Aspin Center for Government // Marquette University”>The Les Aspin Center for Government // Marquette University)
I know LUC is a good school also but I do not know about their specific programs. If you have any other questions about MU lmk (S2 is a sophomore, Elect. Eng., at MU).

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it. Do u know what Marquette looks at the most on applications? Like school stats, EC’s, Ap’s, stuff like that?

From what I have learned I would say:

1) Transcript / GPA
2) Community Service (Marquette loves students that are very involved in comm. service)
3) Teacher’s/Councelor’s rec.
4) Essay
5) Leadership positions
6) SAT/ACT

Go to this site and watch the video (there are more videos in the forum that might be of interest) http://www..com/articles/how_important_are_the_SATs_and_other_standardized_tests%5E63/?taxonomyId=760030 use u…n…i…go (without the dots in place of asterisks)

Thanks again, it really helped a lot
