<p>D’s high school has an “Honors Diploma” program and they make a big deal about Summa cum laude, “students of distinction” (top 10 after val and sal), etc. But this doesn’t really even matter because colleges will NEVER know about any of this. SO does it even matter at all in the whole scheme of things? Do others schools do this?</p>
<p>Class rank at the time of applications is the important admissions factor. However, if a student is waitlisted, then graduation rank and new awards can certainly play a part in a late May or June admissions decision.</p>
