So I took Math Level 2 in Jan and to prep I went through both official CB’s blue book tests, almost all of Sparknotes, and about 1/3 of Barrons. I ended up getting frustrated with the difficulty of Barrons and gave up. I still ended up with an 800.

So now the dilemma resurfaces. I’m taking Physics on Oct. 10 and I’ve done almost all of Princeton Review and the one official CB test … I have a copy of Barrons but again, the problems all seem so much more difficult than the other stuff I’ve done.

Does anyone else see this? That Barrons is much more difficult and/or tests obscure concepts? Or should I study Barrons anyway to get that final elusive 800.

Barron’s IMO is a waste of time. Their Physics book teaches material you won’t need on the SATII (ex: AC circuits) and just generally provides extremely long winded explanations. I was doing a chapter of Barron’s everyday for around 2 weeks but realized that Sparknotes taught the exact same material much more gracefully.

I don’t necessarily agree with people here. In general, I found Barron’s easier than Pr’s. On the other hand, you have to realize that Barron’s physics study guide is just a little review, obviously not helpful. So Barron’s is not the right book to begin with. But, it may help you to develop some brilliant skills, a way of thinking, or a vision.

There is some other way to prepare for SAT exams. practice test and online classes ( examville.com). It’s all easy and cheap. I recommended you to ask your problems with examville tutors. They will suggest you how to get good score…
