I was wondering if there’s going to be any confirmation letter from Harvey Mudd.

confirmation that they have got our applications… i dont think so cause I havent got one yet!!

They don’t send confirmation letters. If you really want to know you can call admissions at (909)-621-8011 to find out.

When do we find out if we are finalists for the Corporate Scholars Program?

Early to mid March, I expect.

thank you :)

The deadline for notification is 1st april. Is this the final deadline? or the approximate deadline?

they usually do it anytime btw march th to april 1st… hope they come fast… this waiting period seems endles…

I started my own thread… but will you tell me what you think my chances are?
I have a 3.5 GPA, all honors classes and I am a junior in HS just finishing up AP Calc BC. I have participated in independant research, got an award from the yale science and engineering foundation for my project, and I am interning through caltech’s SURF program this summer at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (yes, I am only 16 but I emailed a mentor and he helped me get in because he liked my enthusiasm and I know a lot about Ion Propulsion). So I have gotten C’s in math frosh year, and A’s in calculus classes. I had to work freshman and sophomore year so that is why my grades are so low. I got a B in english for the first time this year but I am also taking double blocked AP US. I know I will have really good recommendations from teachers and my NASA internship mentor this summer. I haven’t taken the SATs yet so hopefully that won’t kill me… I have also taken violin forever, did sports the last 2 years and 2 choirs each year… I feel confident that I can write really good essays. So what do you guys think?

Oh and I am a girl so that will help my chances too. I plan on setting up an interview with HMC this summer as well. I may also be able to get another rec from a contact of mine at JPL that helped me with my research project.

I think it is too early to evaluate your chances… we need some solid stats to discuss about ie. class rank, gpa, sat 1&2…

ps: ure ec’s look impressive

a question–how accepting is the school towards GLBTQ students, specifically lesbians? and if acceptence is high, which I’m guessing it will be, how big is the lesbian population? obviously the number of girls at HMC isn’t very big… but is there some dating pool for gay women?

thanks

i think we’re pretty accepting of gays/lebians/etc. – as i remember we were/are some list for being accepting. i don’t know about the lesbian dating pool, but i wouldn’t think it could be very sizable, simply because our school is so small.

I echo chalk’s sentiments regarding acceptance/tolerance. There is no bigotry or prejudice against GLBTQ students at Mudd or at any of the other 5C’s. And, while Mudd does not have much of a lesbian dating pool, there are a fair number of lesbians at the other colleges, particularly Scripps, as one might expect.

When will RD decisions be available?

They were available last week of March last year. Watch for a similar time frame this year.

Available by mail? online? e-mail?

Snail mail, sadly. Patience, my friend, in due time it will come.

Ooh. Can we expect a small letter for a rejection and a fat envelope for acceptance?

Do u mean that they sent out letters on the last week of march? or do you accept it on the last week of march. I am from Thailand so snail mail mite take quite a while to reach
