Muhlenburg College

Could I be successful in finding a high paying job in finance/economics if i went to muhlenburg and graduated with a 3.8, varsity soccer, and internships. It just seems as though muhlenburg is one of those schools were no matter how well you do finding a high paying job in business at big firm is near impossible. thanks

Yes??? People from every kind of college can become successful. If you go into Muhlenburg with this negative attitude, though…success is not as likely.

muhlenebrg is amazing! if you randomly checked the background of the million richest people in america most did not go to an elitist school like harvard. also separate from money many many peoplewho attended muhlenberg are successful and or happy with their college experience. the only thing I am not sure about is the relevance of playing soccer to getting a high paying job. but i am not an HR expert. just be yourself , work really hard finding a job (it is not easy) and when you get your foot in the door prove yourself. your alma mater will have little bearing on your success 10-15 years down the road. much of your success is based on the person you see in the mirror and the choices you make (and some luck too)

Why don’t you contact Muhlenberg’s career placement office and see if someone there will speak with you about the school’s recent hiring experiences? My S’s friend studied accounting there a few years ago and got a Big 4 job.

Muhlenberg’s strongest programs are pre-med and theatre. Accounting is good as well. That being said, finding a good job has a lot to do with how you network. You may have less competition for a finance job from fellow students at Muhlenberg which can work in your favor.
