Muir college at sd?

I’m excited about being accepted to UCSD muir college as aerospace engineer. How is it like? i think this university is too underrated compare to cal and ucla

Yay Muir. You will like it.

I think it’s underrated too. But that’s probably going to change within the next few decades, at least that’s what I’d expect. Probably won’t be too easy to say it’s 1. UCB 2. UCLA 3. UCSD in a while.

But Muir is one of the most popular colleges from what I’ve read. I ranked it second at the time of applying because people were saying Warren was better for engineering so I ranked Warren first lol

Hmmm, Berkeley has Telegraph Ave. full of homeless panhandlers. UCSD has La Jolla’s beaches and clean streets. Decisions, decisions…

Not to say I’m unsympathetic to the homeless but to tell the truth, I’d really rather deal with them when I have a job and resources to do something about the problem. Feeling intimidated by stepping over them (I kid you not) on my way into the bookstore is not my idea of a great study break.

La Jolla has panhandlers a-plenty, but they definitely aren’t quite as… visible… as they are on Telegraph Ave. That might have something to do with how spread out the commercial area around UCSD is, compared to in Berkeley where everything seems to be confined to a 14-or so block stretch of Telegraph between Bancroft and Ashby.

I used to hang out on Telegraph in my early 20s (in the mid nineties), and there was a homeless guy who’s thing was to go around and yell. Just yell. I never saw him beg for change, so I have no idea how he ate. He was hella annoying though. We nicknamed him “Roar”. Good times, good times.
