<p>i think its good that the university conducted an investigation and is taking the proper steps to deal with the issue, however what does this say about Bobby Bowden? in my view, as the chief executive of the football program, the ultimate responsibility falls largely on his shoulders. The fact that so many student athletes felt like it was acceptable to cheat, implies to me that they were not very concerned about any consequences. Had coach bowden (and maybe he did) laid down the law on severe consequences for any student cheating, perhaps we wouldn’t be in this mess. while i am sure this type of thing goes on at many schools, that doesn’t make it right for fsu to do the same. fsu should and is holding itself up to a higher standard.</p>

<p>Also, who hired the full-time academic adviser Brenda Monk who was fired this year. I assume it was bowden. </p>

<p>I know bobby b has done so much for fsu, but perhaps it is time to move forward sooner rather than later.</p>

<p>I doubt it was Bowden who hired Brenda Monk, who worked as a tutor for athletes. He’s a football coach, not an academic. She was probably hired by someone in the athletic director’s office.</p>
