Hi All
I have a 5 hour layover in Munich in 3 weeks and I am wondering if it is worth it to check the city out and grab a beer? Any advice?

It takes 45 minutes via train(the leaves every 10 minutes) to get from the airport to the Hauptbahnhof or Marienplatz . (Marienplatz is probably where you would grab a beer) If you feel comfortable with that squeeze.
I wouldn’t risk it. But then, I’m risk averse to a ridiculous degree.
5 hours isn’t that much time, better safe than sorry. There’s an open air beer garden right there at the airport, that sells a number of the finest regional beers. Munich Airport is one of the very nicest in Europe, and there are plenty of amenities right there to keep you busy for 5 hours.
agree with Defensor…stay put and enjoy the airport.
5 hours isn’t much if you allow de-plane time, trudging thru airport, transit to and from Munich and coming back thru security and re-boarding time…
