Reports say that the police contacted his mom the night before he was arrested, because they had noticed he looked similar to the young man she had reported missing. She apparently did say that it could have been him. Of course, police had no clue where he was.
There is a report that police believe the bike he used to escape the murder scene was stolen after it was abandoned. So they are still hoping to find it. Good luck with that…
I work for a healthcare company and learned yesterday that there was a credible death threat against the CEO earlier this week so they’ve switched the quarterly “all hands” meeting to online only as a result.
Maybe it might be good for insurers to look more deeply at actions they are taking that is contributing to this huge amount of anger. Just a thought.
I’m not sure what value finding that bike would provide at this point.
Me neither! But it is a piece of evidence apparently.
Interesting dinner table conversation in this household:
If they found the bike, maybe they’d get more computer info on the route and then more security cam info like shots of witnesses, where he dumped evidence or other things?
Just guessing. I love following true crime. The case in CT about a year ago of the Greek home builder killing his estrange wife (she was very wealthy, they had 5 kids, 2 sets of twins). They got almost all the evidence (no body) from following his route and checking the sewers where he dumped a lot of black trash bags. It fascinates me how much they can find in evidence from gps tracking.
Who knows—they may be able to find the bike.
The photo with the three different shots of him, honestly the one in McD’s looks like he may have “bumped” his nose with stage make up or similar? It doesn’t look at all like the other two noses.
Page linked above is mainly about the spondylolisthesis that Mangione apparently had and how others experience the condition and medical treatment of such.
Looks like he is on the way back to NY and by flight to avoid the circus of people lining the streets and helicopters following him. Also reported that no family has come to see him.
At first I thought maybe you meant crowds of irate people. But then I the concern was probably a fan club of people disgruntled with healthcare.
Yea it’s given me the vibes of OJ Simpson when he was on the run.

Ther Perp Walk that they did with him yesterday was very odd. You would think he was a mass-murderer with the number of law enforcement that was with him (not surrounding him but walking next to him as if they were on a casual walk). He also looked like someone had given him a haircut and cleaned up his eyebrows. For those loonies who fan-girl/fan-boy over him, he looked like he could do a modeling gig. Strange.
He did not look nervous or bothered in any way.
Well, he might want to be more nervous. He’s been charged federally now with a potential death penalty as a consequence of the murder charge.
If I’m not mistaken, a firing squad is an option for people convicted federally…
Now, wouldn’t that be poetic justice.
Yeah, I thought that perp walk actually highlighted his quasi celebrity instead of making him look like the horrible killer.
