I feel like terrorism add-ons happened in nearly every high-profile case of violent crime for a while after 9/11, and now they still get trotted out for things like this.
I’m glad the judge tossed that one out—IMO, uses like this cheapen the concept of actual terrorism, like it’s being turned into something almost banal.

That apparently was one of the reasons stated by the judge.
Thankfully, the other charges are serious enough that perp will not see the blue sky as a free bird for the rest of his life.
