Music and Movies

Hey everyone  I bet everybody’s getting nervous about EA decisions coming out soon… so I thought we should start a thread just for fun. It’d be cool to see what everybody’s interests are. So, to that end –

What songs are you listening to nowadays, and what movies are you looking forward to seeing?

I’ve been listening endlessly to Irreversible by The Exies, Bat Country by Avenged Sevenfold, and Jeremy by Pearl Jam (I know… it’s ancient haha)

As for movies… I’m REALLY looking forward to seeing Transamerica, Walk the Line, Memoirs of a Geisha, Ellie Parker, Annapolis, and Brokeback Mountain.

Of course, I doubt half of those will come out in Korea, lol~ How about you guys?

I listen to Tupac, Biggie, Immortal Technique, Nas, Jay-Z, Snoop, Public Enemy, Mobb Deep, NWA, Dead Prez, A Tribe Called Quest, and Christmas carols on the local radio station.

I’m hella lookin forward to Narnia. I dunno what other good movies are comin out. I remember a couple years ago, winter was THE movie season, cuz Matrix Revolutions, Harry Potter, and LOTR all came out.

right now i’m listening to : rufus wainwright, belle & sebastian, the shins, maria callas, elliott smith, the buena vista social club, aimee mann and the decemberists. but my music changes alllll the time.

i’m looking forward to narnia too. i’m a sucker for a good fantasy/scifi flick/book. i want to see brokeback mountain too, as well as king kong (which by the by, comes out the 16th, blargh, but at least i’ll be able to lose myself in it- peter jackson, ah!).

i’m also reading a good bit more, to get away from the stress.

haha nice to see someone else besides me is up at this ungodly hour. What time zone r u in blurblurblur?

I’m up too! I’m in Asia… so it’s not that ungodly. Haha. God… I loathe math portfolios.

I’m up in the US (doing homework)…

Movies: Looking forward to Narnia, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Conformist (re-release). Recently I’ve seen The Squid and the Whale and The Passenger. They were both excellent.

Music: Wolf Parade, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The New Pornographers, Stars, etc. Also a lot of classical music (especially 20th century stuff)

BTW blur, have you heard the new b&s album? it leaked online, but I can’t remember the url.

oooh, no i haven’t, but i’ll keep an eye out for it. i’m in the eastern time zone, i got up early to study, which didn’t work out so well, haha.

Music: I listen to classic rock such as Cream, the Who, the Band, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, the Allman Bros., Bruce Springsteen and others.

Movies: I haven’t seen too many movies lately, but I would like to see walk the line and the squid and the whale, and am also looking forward to narnia. I also saw goodnight and good luck recently, which was pretty good.

Anyone listen to Neutral Milk Hotel or Imogen Heap?

Lemonjello, I watched an interview a few weeks ago on the Daily Show with George Clonney about Goodnight and Good Luck… he is quite witty and very intelligent. I was pleasantly surprised… you’d think he’d have to suck at SOMETHING lol

Nothing better than Coldplay for a bit of inspiration! Especially when I’m writing those endless essays for applications.

Music: I’m a musical theatre freak so that’s what I mostly listen to, but I’ve been listening to Trans-Siberian Orchestra for the last few weeks. I love Christmas Eve and Other Stories.

Movies: DEFINITELY looking forward to Narnia, just reread the book. I’m trying to figure out how to show my fangirl-ness for it (I wore an HP shirt, scarf and had a wand for GoF, and I like Narnia better than HP). I’m thinking maybe I’ll make a shirt that says “not a tame lion” on the front. Or “what do they teach them in these schools?” Any ideas?

I’m a huge Trans-Siberian Orchestra fan! Have you heard the Mozart Medley? I love it!
I’m looking forward to Narnia, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Walk The Line.

last cd listened to: seu jorge, life aquatic sessions
last movie: capote

Music: I absolutely LOVE Michelle Branch, Linkin Park, Coldplay, The Killers, and Kelly Clarkson. Natasha Bedingfield is awesome too ;-D

Last movie(s) seen: Harry Potter and GOF and “Rent”; Both were mind-dazzingly amazing movies. Potty was a bit disappointing, however; the maze in the Triwizard tournament was lame and no sphinx was to be found! “Rent” was oh-la-la…wow…I still have all the songs stuck in my head.

I’m really not that worried about December 15th or 16th or whenever the decisions come out. I’m about 99.9999999% percent sure that I will get deferred.

Coquettish, I totally agree…Linkin Park is amazing! And I forgot to mention Switchfoot, Lifehouse, Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, POD…rock in general :)

Songs: Christmas carols, RENT, Norah Jones

Movies: RENT, American Psycho, Amelie, American Beauty, Requiem for a Dream

i like neutral milk hotel and imogen heap! though i only have three songs by the latter.

Yukster,

Um…yea!!! All of those bands that you just listed I like a lot. Nickelback’s “Photograph…” ahhh…it makes me so sad.

Gorbachev_Sez, I haven’t. I sadly only have heard their Christmas CDs. And while I have both “Christmas Eve” and “The Lost Christmas Eve”, I like the first one better.

hello
im listening right now to green day (you should all go check out jesus of suburbia, their latest video, even though its hella long).
i love punk rock (fall out boy, panic! at the disco, yellowcard, motion city soundtrack), classic rock (the clash, the ramones, queen), indie (decemberists, guster, new pornographers, b&s) and the killers and weezer and im getting carried away.
i saw rent and potty. potty went over my head since i havent read the books (dont hate me) and rent was pretty amazing.
