I was looking online at their site and I did not see much along the lines of Extracurricular in the arts, or any performing music ensembles.

The little I found was by doing a search of the IIT webpages. This is one of the few items that came up. [Illinois Institute of Technology](http://www.iit.edu/~edserve/vandercook.html). It appears that any music classes, lessons, or performing ensembles are in conjunction with VanderCook College of Music, a separate institution noted for its music education programs.

It seems that there is a unique relationship between the 2 schools, as VanderCook students actually use IIT’s dorms, dining facilities although to the best of my knowledge are two distinct institutions.

You might want to call IIT directly and ask, or visit VanderCook’s webpages for cross registration info and parameters.

I did find an IIT student run Gospel Choir webpage. Perhaps there are other student directed music opportunities at IIT. Try looking under student life/clubs & organizations.

Im from Chicago so I know a little about this. I know that students at IIT can apply to take classes at Vandercook, just like they would to take a class at a community college. There are plenty of extracurriculars at IIT but because it is a technology school, the pickings will be slim. However if you are passionate about IIT, I know you will definately be able to find plenty of arts opprotunities within Chicago.
