Although Colby’s recent investment in their performing arts and music is immense and quite spectacular, I would suggest that Tufts being acccessable to high quality music teachers is undeniably a draw. There are a couple of top music teachers who will supplement on zoom, but they still need to see the student in person every so often. For a student who simply wants to maintain their music abilities, I would choose Colby, but if you want in person lessons with top talent, I would go with Tufts out of the schools presented.

I have no investment in suggesting Tufts. But it does have a really vibrant music program
Yes @tealeagues we are agreed!
The thing is, Tufts isn’t a LAC. But I agree that the location alone will create opportunities that aren’t going to show up outside a major city with excellent professional musical institutions.
I thought I deleted that last post. I will again. I have no interest in participating at this juncture .
editing to add well I cannot edit or delete but please no responses to me!
Now that their relationship with the NEC has gone, what is the future for music at Tufts?
Someone who is closer to the program has better insight. But even whem there was a relationship, the vast majority of students participating in music activities at Tufts were doing so with no connection to NEC. It was only very serious, mostly dual-degree students, who had regular contact with NEC.
