<p>Has anybody every taken a music class at Pasadena City College? I want to take one over the summer, either Music Appreciation or Music Cultures of The World. However, as I was looking through the class catalog, I noticed that there was a mandatory concert attendance if you choose to take the classes. Is this true? Or does it depend on your professor?</p>
<p>Don’t take it at PCC. PCC sux. Try taking it on the internet at SMC or something if you want an easier A than PCC. PCC has a stinky registration time and people can never get the classes they want until 2-3 years later.</p>
<p>I’m in a music class right now at SMC (music 37) and yeah we need to go to at least 3 concerts. Suuuuuuucks! (…I haven’t done any yet.)</p>
<p>It does depend on your professor but there’s a pretty high chance it’s mandatory.</p>
<p>Yeah I had a friend who took a music appreciation class and he had to go to three concerts as well. His professor let him pick the concerts though. He went to a regular concert, and then he went to one at the Disney Hall in downtown LA, and to one in one of the Claremont Colleges.</p>
<p>Seriously though, like Johngo said, do not go to PCC. All community colleges are regarded the same. Go to one where all your friends go so you’re happier. I regret going to PCC. I mean, yeah I liked it, but for the 20 mile commute, god no. Thank god I went somewhere else after a year though.</p>
<p>lol…some PCC haters. PCC is a great school (top 3 CC in CA). Yea, that will make it a little more difficult than the others.</p>
<p>Yeah, PCC is a great school actually. Although it’s really just damn overcrowded and their registration system is insane.</p>
<p>I took History 1A and History 1B in the same semester with Professor Hugo Schwyzer. He was such a great lecturer, I never could not pay attention to him, always felt awake and entertained. It’s one of the things about PCC that I’m glad I experienced.</p>
<p>lol… try to take Music 111 at ELAC… it’s a lot easier than PCC</p>
