Music Education

As between these schools, how would you say their music ed progrmas compare? (Student wants to teach high school or college music.)
Ohio State; Univ of Michigan; Univ of Indiana; Univ of Texas (Austin): Florida State; Vanderbilt?

They are all strong programs. What is the instrument or specialization?

Certification needed for HS, not needed for college- could make a big difference…

Vanderbilt’s program is a 5 year B. Mus and M. Ed.

Ohio State is a B of Music Ed (BME).

That’s all I know.

I have a friend who is looking into transferring to become a music ed. major at OSU next year because of the obvious perks of the college and community.

I don’t know about the other states, but isn’t Ohio one where if you graduate in Mus. ed., you are certified to teach both instrumental and choral classes? Please, correct me if I’m wrong though.
