<p>Yes, their music program is good- you are going to get a good education at UNC CH no matter what you major in. However, there are other schools in NC that are better known for their music programs. Have you considered Appalachian, UNCG, Meredith, East Carolina? Music is one of the better programs at those schools.</p>
<p>The two main piano professors at UNC are really excellent. They are both fairly young, as are their reputations, but they have been attracting very strong students in recent years. You can’t beat the academics at UNC-CH and the music majors are all smart, well-rounded students. The music program is considerably smaller than the ones mentioned above, but there are many advantages to being in a smaller program, especially if you are doing the BA. You should try to visit and attend lessons and classes for a day.</p>
