Music Supplement

If my choir sang (and went on tour with) Mozart’s Requiem, is it worth sending in a CD to Yale, or is that more for soloists?

Yale, along with the rest of the Ivies, really only want music supplements as long as a single voice/instrument can be heard. They say, in writing, that they prefer solo performances.

what do u mean solo performances for “writing”? writing essays? or what? cause i want to write an essay based on my musical experience in community service as a group, stuff like that. ur saying since that’s not solo, i cant write about that? im a little perplexed.

No, the Yale admissions officers have articulated in writing (meaning admissions materials like brochures and pamphlets) that they prefer to hear solo MUSICAL performances.

I was making no reference to creative writing.

Alrighty, just checking. Thanks, hillier.

Anytime…
