<p>most of you know the x-file theme.</p>

<p>I like music similar to the x-file theme and I have a burned CD with random **** I got from some random place. I really want to get some more but, I have no clue as to what genre this is or any artists or anything that I should search for - the fact that there usually are no lyrics makes this search process harder.</p>

<p>The stuff I’m looking for is on the chill side — something I could listen to at night as I’m driving around on some long ass road and I could, I guess, call cruising music.</p>

<p>I love techno, electronic, Daft Punk and similar stuff but I need something a little more mellow; these sometimes are way to upbeat and too much energy.</p>

<p>I guess you might refer to it as downtempo; I think you would probably enjoy trip-hop music. I’d suggest DJ Krush, one of my favorite artists.</p>

<p>check out M83…it’s some pretty wierd stuff, but if you like it, you don’t just like it, you love it. I suggest getting these 2 songs, because they present two different sides of M83, one a bit more explosive, and the other a bit more downtempo and yet emotional: “unrecorded” and “lower your eyelids to die with the sun”.</p>

<p>triphop is a good suggestion, try Tricky, Massive Attack, Portishead, Herbaliser. </p>

<p>I really like a genre of electronic music called dubstep; check out Burial. there are tons of dubstep mixes floating around the internet.</p>

<p>There is a downtempo subgenre of alternative rock called slowcore, of which the band Low is a prime example.</p>

<p>They did the music for some 80s soundtracks like Risky Business (my favorite movie).</p>

<p>Also try ambient music (maybe that’s too soft…) or experimental electronica, triphop was a good suggestion. Check out Kraftwerk, german electro-krautrock band. Specifically their 22 minute song “Autobahn.” All electronic instruments, etc. meant to replicate driving on the Autobahn.</p>
