I know that CCM said they’d notify in January, but you’re right that they notified people in December last year. Who knows?
Mine is also waiting on an EA admission decision from Emerson. We were told they’d notify by ~Dec. 15. Waiting…
Does anyone know who the 2 heads of Musical Theatre are at FSU? I thought one of them retired last year, but haven’t seen any new posts about her replacement. Thx.
Hi all! My son has heard back on prescreens from all of the schools he applied to expect 3- UMich (he did not do the early submission, submitted Nov 11th), CSU Fullerton and CU Bolder. Has anyone heard from these schools or know when he might hear something?
For reference, here is his school list-
Prescreen passes-
CMU
Pace
Texas State
Syracuse
Ithaca
Temple
Buffalo
Chico State
No prescreens/in-person scheduled-
NYU
University of Utah
In-person completed (through a private audition opportunity)-
University of Oklahoma
Indiana University
USC
Same about Emerson for EA but in my notes I have that ED is December and Early action is a January notification, but I think last year they did both in December.
I think most schools post in advance of when they are releasing so we will hopefully have a heads up.
In another group someone posted that their kid had reached out about Emerson EA and were told they’d pushed it to January.
At the audition, we were told decisions would happen mid-December.
Their site says both mid-December and January, depending where you look.
I emailed Hartt School’s admission team and they said they’ll be sending out callbacks in early January.
Seems like a lot of schools had a large amount of submissions and they’re taking a little longer to go through them.
I decided to apply to BW a few days ago after going back and forth for a while, but now the only MT zoom audition put me on the waitlist. Does anyone know if it is likely to get off that waitlist? I can’t travel out to audition because of money. It says the fee is nonrefundable but if I don’t even get a chance to audition would they refund? So confused haha
If you haven’t already, email and ask for the audition fee to be waived I did and they obliged my request. Just be honest and tell them about your financial situation. That way you aren’t out of any money worst case scenario. They are very kind and understanding at BW.
Anyone knows when CSU Fullerton release Prescreens results in the years past?
I actually called Baldwin Wallace about this cause we had to reschedule our audition date to the virtual one. They mentioned that there are currently 9 people on the wait list for it but they also said that usually many people signing up for virtual audition cancel or reschedule so it’s likely we will be able to audition!
Great, thank you so much for letting me know!
Hey! I’m kind of new to this whole thing but I submitted realllyyy late for these schools. (Like the deadline date kind of late T-T) but here are my results so far for the prescreen schools:
Passed Prescreens: Point Park, Ithaca, Rider
Redirected to Acting: Emerson, CMU
Not Heard Yet: Syracuse, U Mich, CCM, Elon, Penn State, BOCO
I feel kind of bad about CMU and Emerson and I don’t like how that spells my chances for U Mich. If anyone has encouraging words or has been through the process before that’d be great.
I know you probably wanted the MT programs at CMU and Emerson but I want you to first understand that passing both of those prescreens in general is very impressive and you should definitely be proud of yourself! Also you truly will not ever know what these schools are looking for but that is what makes the process (albeit scary) a magical one! You are like a detective trying to find the clues to solve your case (what school is right for you). Will that be Michigan? Possibly! But even if it isn’t you have to remember that the only reason you are auditioning for these schools is because you are highly passionate about Musical Theatre and you probably want to do it for the rest of your life. So don’t let those rejections and redirections define who you are and your talent as a performer. Remember you are Wayyyyyy more than the BFA programs you get into. Lindsay Mendez for example (Wicked, Dog Fight, Merrily) did not get into ANY of the colleges she auditioned for. Where is she now? A seasoned performer with 7 broadway shows under her belt! I’m saying all of this to let you know that you are very talented and you should never doubt yourself on your chances! It aint a no till it’s a no!
That did make me feel miles better! I kind of forgot Lindsay didn’t get into any schools and if I remember clearly neither did Stephanie J Block. I have to remember that this process doesn’t define me. Its just difficult to remember sometimes
I got my MSM Prescreen decisions today!
We heard from Pace, too!
Passed prescreen for MSM today! A little earlier than expected
Congratulations!!!
I hear Michigan Callbacks went out today! Personally did not apply, but wanted to inform anyone who didn’t know!!
