My 4 year plan... worried it might seem inadequate?

So I’ve heard that it’s good to have a (flexible!) 4 year plan, so I can be prepared, but I’m concerned about the rigor, since I’ve only had one honors class and one accelerated class (bio) freshman year. Will this look good enough for UCLA, Cal Poly SLO, UCSD, UCI, and basically all the higher-tier UCs and Cal States? Also, my school has a complex block schedule, and some courses are only one semester long for every day that semester, and some courses meet every other day for the entire year.

Course, 1st semester grade/2nd semester grade

Freshman year-

Summer school health A
Biology B/A
English 9 A (Spring)
Global Studies (not honors, but optional at my school) A/A
H Alg2/Trig B/A
Spanish 1 A (Fall)
Spring Track

Sophomore year-

Summer school chem
AP Chem, but all AP sciences except physics are okay in case I don’t get A’s in chemistry (prereq for AP)
H English 10
Modern World History
H Pre-calc
Spanish 2
ROP Visual Imagery (preferably both semesters, but only spring for now; I’ll add the fall course if I have room)
XC (Hopefully???)
Off season + spring track

Junior year :frowning: -

AP Environmental //or// AP Bio, probably APES
APUSH (I heard it kills most people @ my school… rip me)
AP Calc BC :’(
AP Lang
Spanish 3
ROP Visual Imagery fall semester, in case I can’t take both semesters soph.year, most likely scenario
XC
Track

Senior year-

AP Bio or AP Physics, but I really don’t want to take physics :frowning:
AP Gov/econ
AP Stats
AP Lit
Adv. Visual Imagery???
Psychology
XC
Track

ECs-
Volunteer @ the library during the summer- 3 years
NHD- 3 years
Team HPV- 3 years; I joined last year but never went to the meetings, so freshman year doesn’t count

Possible ECs-
Might start an EDM club (earn community service by DJing :D) … or maybe geography club
MUN???- 3 years
Make-a-wish???- 3 years I guess?
LiNK?
I think there’s a UNICEF club @ my school…
Maybe creative writing
Animal Alliance?
Any other clubs/volunteering opportunities that interest me

I’m thinking of going into either molecular biology/biochem or somewhere in social sciences (geography, pol sci, history, sociology) if that helps
Or maybe double major in those/ minor in one of them
Thank you!

It’s fine, but as you said you need to be flexible. Classes are added/dropped all the time, and your in terests could change, but it’s a good start.

Bump

Would your school allow you to take Calc AB jr year, and BC sr year?
It’d make more sense, in terms of progression, than BC-> stats.

@MYOS1634 if his school covers BC Calc as all of AB and all of BC, then that would be a ton of review

Yes, that’s why I asked if his school offers AB -& BC as a sequence.
AP stats is an AP lite for students who can’t/won’t take calculus yet want to have a rigorous math class anyway. In most cases, it’s better to take stats in college.

You also don’t have to take all 3 AP science classes…if you didn’t takehonors classes freshman year, I would be worried about jumping into AP science sophomore year…you can also take the honors versions of each science and then take one of them AP in senior year. Maybe take honors physics next year and then AP Bio and Chem Junior/senior years?

1 AP sophomore year to 4 junior year seems like it would make jr year even more stressful :frowning: perhaps try to even it out?

Most schools have few AP options for freshman and sophomores. Having one (or zero) as a sophomore is pretty standard.
