Question: is it feasible to produce an outstanding personal statement without having any particular achievements of note (both academically and extracurricularly)?
I’m asking this because at the moment I am an above average student, but nothing brilliant, even though I know and all my teachers know that I could easily be, should I put any effort into it. So let’s just say I’m a severe procrastinator*. Procrastination translates into practically every aspect of my life, including extra-curricular activities (hell, even sex). That’s how bad it is.

The only things of note I can think of are that I am passionate about diving (certified rescue diver), politics, and I’ve been playing guitar for a year.

As you can see, nothing extraordinary. Far from it.

I’m doing the IB by the way, and I know that I’ll get at least 36 points if I work (probably around 40 if, ideally, I work as I should be working).
By the way I only get bad grades (I get my fair share of them) when I hand work in late or don’t do it at all. Otherwise I pretty much get 7s when I do the work (7 = A or A)…

What do you think?
