my background- too far of a reach?

Hello everyone,
I know tons of people have already done the same thing as this but I need reassurance on whether or not I’d have a chance at getting in.

A lot depends on subjective things - how much of an interesting, passionate, and unique person you seem to be from your essay and teacher recommendations. I would guess that your scores certainly don’t preclude you from gaining admission - I know a reasonable number of people (including me!) who weren’t even in the top 10% of of their class (though I also know plenty of valedictorians). You definitely have a chance - just make sure to showcase your abilities in your application. Your extracurriculars and special interest in art look good! You’re taking plenty of AP classes and challenging yourself - that’s always good. Good luck!

thanks for your input madjoy. It’s encouraging to know that they don’t just look at SAT’s and rank, but the more important things like who you are as a person. I guess we’ll see what happens… even though I still have a year. :)
