My brother was majoring in civil engineering and his GPA dropped to 1.5 after the first semester. He brought it up to 2.6 then it dropped back to 2.1. This past semester he was very frustrated with his classes and decided to stop going to class after thanksgiving and ended up failing all 4 of the classes he was taking. Now his GPA will be 1.68 which puts him back in probation. He never wanted to do engineering so he has decided to switch majors to English in the school of LSA if possible as he has always wanted to do English and does well in that. Based on the website, if anyone drops into probation twice they are “enrollment withheld”. Does this mean he will have to go to a hearing by the SSC? Has anyone else been in this position?

rather than worrying about that, your brother should transfer to an easier school. It’s extremely difficult to get reasonable jobs with that kind of gpa. Better reset that gpa with a clean slate.
