my cal grant says something weird?

College of Attendance: UNIV OF CA - SANTA CRUZ

^^ my cal grant says my college of attendance for my 2012-2013 is ucsc. but I havn’t confrimed this yet. It was the first school I listed on my fafsa along with many other Uc’s I applied to. Do they just take the first one off the list?

also, it says they have received my fafsa. I still need to update my fafsa though bc my parents havnt done their taxes yet & I filed it under “will file”. When I update my fafsa will it automatically resend the new info to the cal grant?

thanks for your time & info!!

2012-2013 FAFSA - Date App Rcvd: 01/02/2012 - Complete

^^ is the “complete” in regards to 2011 taxes? if so then this is wrong bc I havn’t updated it yet and its not complete? wth?

It takes up to 2-weeks for Cal Grant to see that you have submitted a FAFSA form. They[Cal Grant] acknowledged and received my FAFSA.

They also have my school attendance to UCSB, which I think is interesting.

So when I update my fafsa they will receive the update in two weeks?

As long as you submitted your FAFSA, even before you update your Tax forms to your 2011, they will still receive your FAFSA regardless.

I submitted my FAFSA with “will file” and filled in with 2010 Tax Form. Cal Grant still got my FAFSA.

okay thanks

and maybe its a sign that i’m going to end up at santa cruz & youre gonna end up at santa barbara ! lol

^^LOL, I was thinking the exact same thing!!

I certainly hope your theory holds true uchappytrain! Mine says “College of Attendance: UNIV OF CA - BERKELEY”. Fingers crossed

Do we need to go to our CC in person to request these GPA verifications? It says “not received” for me.

I think it is just the first school on your list.

@Jason I hope so too! and most cc send gpa’s automatically but some don’t. go to your financial aid office and ask if they sendthem automatically an when. mine sends them out at the end of feb.

@uchappytrain Thanks!

@jasonSkim

Where does it say “College of Attendance: UNIV OF CA - BERKELEY”? Your FAFSA form?

Is it because you submitted your Cal Grant GPA Verification already?

The school should be the first one you put onto your FAFSA…at least that’s what happened with me as a freshman…the first school I put was UCLA and it was the one that showed up in WebGrants…then I went to UCI and had to manually go back and change school of attendance to UCI. Unless they changed the system, I don’t think its a predictor of acceptance…

@ocean I figured that but I just wanted to hold on to a little sense of whimsy haaa (:

@KarmaGo Not on the FAFSA, but on the webgrants4students.org website. Says it when you click “application status” under the “cal grants” tab.

Got it. Thanks.
