We’ve had German Shepherd Dogs that would watch shepherds on TV, but ignore other dogs.

One of my cats will play fetch only with rings from the lids of gallon milk containers. She’s actually gotten quite good at catching them if you flick them at her. We have bought her cat toys, which she ignores.

Also, every morning I find one of my plain black pony tail holders sunk to the bottom of her water bowl.

we have two cats- Misty and Sabrina.

Misty thinks she is a dog- growls when the doorbell rings, eats so fast she throws up and then tries to eat it again, and loves to roll around outside in the dirt. She also likes to roll around in the dirty smelling clothes on laundry day.

sabrina is the blonde cat- a little ditzy and skittish. She loves to be picked up and draped across your shoulder from front to back (not from side to side). Her stomach will be resting on your shoulder and she will stretch out her front end halfway down your back. Her back feet will be hanging down your front. She will even try to lay on her side while hanging on you and purr at the same time.

Oh! Misty loves Marshmallows. She ate a complete big marshmallow last week. Whenever she sees you eating them, she begs for her own.

My guinea pig, Trevor, was quite a character. When I swept out the cage, he would keep nudging my hand until I scratched his back. Or he would stand there staring at me as if to say, “Hey! You have two hands, and neither one of them is scratching my back. What’s up with that?” If that didn’t work, he’d chew on the bars of the cage and make a racket until he got what he wanted. Even when he had pneumonia and was in an oxygen tent, the vet said he still demanded to have his back scratched.

Any time anything happened around the house, one of us would always say, Trevor did it!
You’d be amazed how many things Trevor got blamed for. I still haven’t figured out how he got into the refrigerator and ate the last piece of pizza! His legend lives on–my husband named his fantasy football team The Spirit of Trevor. Damn, I miss that pig! :(

I lived on a very busy street growing up, and our fence went to the ditch next to the street. It wasn’t unusual to find a neighborhood dog or cat who had been hit by a car. We, of course, had the smartest dog! She would not leave the yard for any reason; even on a leash she would put the brakes on and refuse to leave.

We could leave the gate wide open and she would stay in the yard. If someone was walking by she would run along the fence barking, go around the open gate, then finish her barking down the rest of the fence. She loved to play catch and if her ball rolled out the open gate she would run like the wind to the end of the driveway and stop, whining at the ball to do the same.

She waited for the school bus and for my dad coming home from work every day. She either had a sixth sense or extraordinary hearing, because she would suddenly run to the corner of the yard, bark once, and sit patiently until the bus or cal pulled into view. It’s been 37 years and I still miss her!

We had a cat that would open the cabinet and eat a little cat food - always ate just a little and she never made a mess. Another cat slept at the foot of the bed, literally, hammocked by the sheets where they were tucked in. He would bite my pants and try to pull me to the bedroom when he thought it was bedtime. We had a bunny that would bathe in the dog’s giant water dish, and a dog that could climb the chain-link fensce to visit the neighbor’s dog.

We have a German Shepherd with a very thick coat that tends to pick up junk such as dried leaves, easily, especially if the dog rolls in it. Once H tried to brush leaves off our dog’s back with a leaf rake. Big mistake! Now, the minute the dog notices any of us carrying a leaf rake, he will not let us come in the back yard without giving him a good brushing with said rake! And if I’m raking leaves, the dog will run to me as soon as I pause and demand a back rub!

our rabbit played soccer and tag, our dog opened child locks on the cabinets. our D’s cat brought her leash to H and put it in his lap and waited to be walked. the cat also plays fetch with crunchy balls- you throw it and she goes and gets it and brings it back at your feet.
