My chance for acceptance to Berkeley?

Hi all!

I want nothing more than to attend Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.

I currently attend the University of Nevada Reno, and will graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with about a 3.7 GPA. I’m in an HR club, very active in the community etc. I don’t know whether my high school transcripts matter at all for graduate school, or what factors DO matter.

My grandmother used to teach at Berkeley (years ago) and my uncle graduated there top of his class. Does this help me?

Thank you! All your help is appreciated.

Randi

MY GUESS is that maybe your grandmother teaching there will give you a slight edge. Your uncle not so much.
3.7 is decent, and I know Berkeley has really good business school so it might be a little on the lower end.
High school transcripts are beyond useless for thing other than getting into College.
But don’t get too optimistic, try you best to get in make sure you apply to other schools.

This is sort of an if-y guess. I’m going based on what I’ve read.
My mother used to help with admissions at UT Southwestern Medical School, and she says that its rare to see anything below a 3.7.
Most of the kids here are High school students(Junior and Senior, but still) or maybe an Freshman(if your luck Soph or higher) Undergrad.

High school grades don’t matter at all.

GMAT does (or GRE if they accept it).

Your grades are probably good enough (althoug I don’t know anything about UN Reno).

You’ll need at least a 700 GMAT, unless you’re a minority or something.
