<p>im a senior and about to apply. in Virginia, Race is Asian.
3.8 GPA, good challenging courses over the years. I took all the math courses, count this year its 6. Took AP Calculus, AP environment, AP statistics.
SAT, 510 CR, 770 Math, 500 WRiting. and i went to kaplans so trying to get CR to 550, and writing 650.
My teachers and councellors are willing to write recommendations for me.
i played 2 years of football, 3 years of track and field. 3 clubs and also got metals for sports and club competitions.
only problem is that i got into a fight with my friend in freshman year and got 3 days of In school suspension. and i got into another argument with friend sophomore year got 1 day ISS. After those im clean and well behaved.
willl those suspensions affect me a lot? i mean my counselor assured me that dont worry about it. Im still worried a lot.
will i get in Penn State? for science type majors.</p>
<p>I think you you’re in. Penn State probably will not worry about the ISS stuff. You have the numbers and that’s what they focus on the most. I would just make sure to apply early and for University Park.</p>

<p>hey f1N01 on the application, when they ask whether you got into trouble before? like" displineary action by highschool", did you say yes and explained?</p>
<p>When my son was applying to schools we asked the guidance department how his two ISS would affect his chances. His guidance department told us that they do not report in school suspensions to colleges, they only reported those where the student received out of school suspensions. Guidance told him NOT to report ISS on applications. My suggestion is that you talk to your guidance to see what their policy is before you fill out your applications. I actually don’t remember that question on the Penn state app.</p>
<p>my counselor said its better to put it on it. but he will add a letter help me explaining the situation and how i improved. he is like it is no big deal at all.
so i guess im good.
