My chance of getting in at RD?

<p>Hi, I just got deferred from Penn CAS.</p>

<p>But, I’m trying out again with new marks. Could anyone comment on my chance of getting in?</p>

<p>SAT: Math: 800, Writing: 760, Verbal 660. (I have got 700 but… it’s from my 2nd trial, for which the total score is lower than my first one)</p>

<p>SAT II: Math IIC: 800, Chem: 780, Phys: 800</p>

<p>GPA: Full IB, 3.75 (unweighted.) However, in grade 12 first term, I got 4.0 (unweighted). Would this help?</p>

<p>Kendo for 4 years: position is Student Leader.</p>

<p>Prime Minister Web Moderator for 2 years</p>

<p>Dental Office Volunteer: 2 years</p>

<p>Power Smart Movie: like making movie and airing it on TV. I was leader but this project was only 3 months long</p>

<p>Leadership Club President: 3 years. Sth like community service club, but with fancy name.</p>

<p>Computer Programming: 2 years. Paid $10000 at its completion</p>

<p>Book Editting: editting a book that will be published. Some sort of grammar lesson book for Samsung businessmen. 40 hrs/week for 2 months</p>

<p>And, other small stuffs I am too lazy to write down</p>

<p>Canadian Mathematical Contest-Hypatia: Gold Medalist (11)</p>

<p>Commonwealth Essay Competition: Highly Commended at Int’l Level(11)</p>

<p>Qualified for Euclid Book Award (10-11)</p>

<p>American Mathematical Contest 10 School Winner (10)</p>

<p>Canadian Mathematical Contest-Galois: 1st Place in Canada (4 people in Canada) and Gold Medalist (10)</p>

<p>I’m quite desperate to enter UPenn… Is there any way I could improve my application?</p>

<p>well first of all…you mentioned you had a 700 Writing on your second trial but it was overall a lower score…that doesnt matter…they take your best combine score so they would consider you having a 800M 760W 700V</p>

<p>now id say its hard to tell you chances cause you’ve been deferred already and its hard to say without knowing whats diff on your app from the first time around…they key is to make sure they know you really wanna go…talk to your regional rep, get another good recc, if you can better your why penn essay thats good</p>
