My chances at Cornell University? - GPA 4.0 (96%),SAT 1320

I am international student who only started preparing for in early october (too bad none told me i had to take SAT before…)
on first test when i had no idea what was SAT ( october 1st), without any practise, i got 1060/1600. after 1 month on november sat i got 1150 and on 3rd try (2 month of preparement) i got 1320 720 maths, 600 english ( i screwed it up slept only 3 hrs Q_Q)

i have some some nice extracurricular activities. i want to apply for computer science major!

by the way do universities look at progress of sat scores? -.-?

For starters, if your GPA 96% and you just rounded it up to 100% (4.0), then you’ve made a BIG mistake because there is a significant difference between 96% and GPA of 4.0 – especially when it is an unweighted GPA, which equals to straight As throughout the high school years.

Second, colleges don’t look at progress in test scores although they do look at that in GPA. Unfortunately, Cornell won’t consider you with that low SAT score.

It now depends on how good your ECs are. Based on your GPA and SAT scores, you have very low chance. You will have to have mindblowing ECs as well as solid essays in order to grab admission officers’ attentions to you.

we have different system in my country, 1-10 is our system and highschool gpa is calculated by summing up all the marks and dividing it by the number of courses. i got 9.6/10.

Cornell will recalculate you GPA to match their standards so that you can be compared with other applicants.

thanks for the answer.

if send cornell my sat score and retake sat in january ,will they accept my january scores? (cornell deadline is 1st january )
