Hey guys,

okay well here’s my story…

Throughout highschool, I’ve been a less-than-stellar student (2.6 gpa weighted, SATs 1010)…i’ve never liked school–just done what i’ve had to in order to get by.

However–my extra-cirricular resume is exceptional for someone who is still 17…

-student council president
-part time job at ABC-TV affiliate
-part time professional radio job as on-air talent
-several award-winning video productions
-produced :30 concert commercial for MTV
-DECA executive board member
-several other in-school leadership positions
-freelance concert promoter
-marketing consultant for several local musicians including pete francis (DISPATCH)

i’m not trying to sound stuck-up…but my resume is far beyond my years…I desperately want to go to college for a major in marketing/minor in film and video…my philosophy throughout highschool has been that if a college is going to accept me, it will be for the things i do outside of school…i keep hearing mixed things about emerson–my number one school…i hear form some people that they look at experience a lot on a case-by-case basis, i even heard from one graduate of emerson that he got in based solely on experience (he graduated high school with a 1.3 gpa)…and i hear from others that they are extremely competitive and even if you have experience they won’t accept you without the grades…

could someone please tell me if i have any hope?–i can’t honestly beleive that the years ive spent working on things outisde of school (things that i WANT TO DO FOR A LIVING—not lab sciences) are a waste…

other schools aside from emerson i’m looking at include:
hofstra
johnson and whales
u-new hampshire
northeastern

…any feedback on any of these schools would be greatly appreciated…thank you so much…
