Please give me advice on how to give myself a better shot of getting into Stanford! Thank you!

anyone? please?

I really don’t mind bad news! jk

College classes will look impressive. Test scores may not be on the high side, but they certainly throw you in the ball park (your in the median 50% that is).

You definitely have a shot, and I think your unique high school/community college experience may make you stand out. With 25,000 applicants (overall, not for SCEA), it does not hurt to have a factor that sets you apart.

bump!!!

improve your SATs.

I heard that Stanford and other schools do not like students taking the SAT too many times. Should i still take the SAT a third time?

You’re definitely within range for Stanford, but you are still below the 50th percentile. I don’t think you need to retake though. There are people who have been accepted with lower scores than you, so don’t lose hope. Apply and hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

chancing IS evil…get over it and just apply. You can’t change anything and no one, i repeat, no one, has the experience of being an adcom for Stanford, in the most recent cycle. Not to mention, what stats Stanford is looking for change with each year…so it doesn’t f-ing matter…stop this. [end rant]

Are you underprivileged in some way (poor/minority?) how many kids from your high school go to 4 years colleges? Did your parents go to college?

if you are underprivileged, i’d give you a mediocre (30-40% shot). If you’re just another white/asian kid who hasn’t had to overcome much, your chances are very low.
