Other Details (Where do I put these on my application?):
Though the combined efforts of myself and a past colleague, I am working on starting a mobile banking business. We plan to officially launch our application, which I am programming, around December (which means after most early decision deadlines) and have already began establishing a customer base.

If there is any information that I missed that you think might be helpful, just let me know. Sorry about any spelling/grammar errors as I was typing this in a hurry.

Also please note that the only 2 AP classes offered at my high school were English and History. I choose College English over AP because it is supposed to be more rigorous and I choose Engineering Digital Electronics (college credit given) over AP History scheduling wise.

Your GPA/ACT/ECs makes your 5 other schools look like matches to me.

Stanford, Berkeley, and Yale look like reaches (but then again, they are for everyone) looking at your ACTs.
Chance me back?

Forgot to mention that my family’s income is below $34,000 a year so I’d need financial aid. Does that hurt me at all?

This actually might help you in terms of admissions at top, private colleges.

^^ Definitely agree.

Your ECs are good, but your ACT score could use some work. Are you retaking them?

As you have probably heard several times, schools like Stanford and Yale are reaches for virtually anyone who applies to them. With a raised ACT score, I would say your chances are as solid as anyone’s.

I don’t know much about the 5 other schools you listed, so I cannot do much to predict your chances there.

Also, in terms of your income, a lot of top schools are need-blind in admissions and a $34,000 income might secure you a full ride. I only know that for Yale and Stanford, any income <$60,000 means that your family will not have to contribute any amount. I wouldn’t worry too much about FA hurting you, just about getting in first.

Good luck! And thanks for chancing me!

I don’t know much about the others schools but Yale is a high reach I would say for your GPA. Berkeley you have a good chance if you launch the programming app, and receive good attention for that. But Berkeley as a UC look at GPA and SAT/ACT more than anything else. it is understandable that your school doesn’t offer a lot APs but you can still self-study. again for comp sci, your school doesn’t really matter, it’s a really demanding market, so any school will do!! so don’t worry too much! (oh the location of the school does matter as some locations will have more jobs than others! like urban vs rural)
