Junior
Asian
gpa: 3.0 weighted i know it suks
SAT I: 2050
SAT II: 720 and 720
ECs: 200 hours of community service, 3 yrs of symph orchestra, and 1 yr of track

My first choice is UCI!!!
but i wanna know my chances for UCD, UCSB, UCSC, UCR, and UCM thx alot!

you’ll see that the second line on the page says:

“Beginning with fall 2007 applicants, the minimum GPA is 3.0 for California residents, 3.4 for nonresidents” (for application to the UCs).

And that’s a UC GPA—which is actually a weighted (but capped) GPA. So, yes you can apply with a 2.7 GPA if you took at least 4 yearlong AP courses and got all As in them–but that is unlikely to get you into UCI–more likely UCM, UCR, or possibly–if you are lucky–UCSC. (Note that your UC GPA would be right at 3.01 or so).

^^ that criterion is for scholarships, I think.

Generally, it’ll be harder to get into a UC with a GPA below a 3.00, as even UCR has a low percentage (8%, I think) of students with a GPA below that. But for you…

UCI/UCD/UCSB: slight reach - high match
UCR/UCM/UCSC: match - safe match

Your application is somewhat lopsided in that you have good test scores and okay ECs, but your GPA is a bit weak; as the UCs stress GPA the most, your chances are more difficult to gauge.
