<p>Academic Index was invented by the Ivies to help them to judge the creditials of recruited athletes compared to non athletes. Its index that weights SAT I and II scores, class rank (when available) or GPA. <p>The Ivies all say that they don’t make admission decisions based solely on this scale, but most commentators I’ve read believe it’s very unlikely that anyone with a score under 6 will be admitted. </p>
