Hey I’m trying to transfer to U Dub next fall and I want to know if you guys would think I could get in. I have a 3.25 GPA (yes, I know its low) but I’ve been taking some pretty strenuous classes. I’m a biochem major so I know how much the work load is, but I’ve been handling myself alright for the most part. Also, I have 3 AP tests from high school that I passed which will count for some kinda credit, and I took 4 years of Spanish so I don’t need a foreign language.

Here are my grades:
Freshman English-B
Critical Thinking-B
Mass Media Communications-A
Trig-A
Precalc-A
Calc 1-B
Calc 2-B
Cellular/molecular bio-C
Intro to chem-A
Gen Chem 1-B
Gen Chem 2-B
Engineering physics 1-B

Well I also had extracurricular activities. I played football and baseball in high school all four years, volunteered at the local Pop Warner youth football league and the Salvation Army. I don’t think that is very much though. So would my chances be still be super low with all those? I feel like my personal statement would help but is the possibility of me getting in still pretty bleak?

I don’t think they care about your ECs in high school. All that matters is your ECs after high school and your academic achievements. Given how competitive the out-of-state 4 year transfer pool is, your grades should be around 3.5
