Do I have anything that even separates me from the pack?

I’m already taking six ap’s next year from my class schedule, taking ap physics c: mech & E/M by self-studying in combination with a college course, taking english lang without studying…

Well, taking a lot of APs isn’t really going to help you in admissions, especially since you haven’t taken these yet. I know someone who took 9 APs and didn’t get into most of these schools…Certainly good for you if you can handle that much work, but don’t do it purely bc you think it looks good.

Wow we have the same test scores! Except you have better ECs and I have a better GPA lol xP And I’m freakin kicking myself for not taking one more AP this year and getting National AP Scholar after junior year.

Dammit, you have great chances! Especially ED. That sucks for me.

Since you go to one of the top schools in Maryland, it would be nice if you could provide some kind of class rank. Also, do you have any sports/music?

Research is becoming a big factor in Harvard admissions, but scientific success if mostly up to chance.

when you say 2nd generation African American, do you mean you’re half black? no one is guarenteed admission, but you have an excellent chance. are you applying early?

wow! I go in live in howard county to. I go to Mt. Hebron, but im new to the area. just moved from Austin TX, GO LONGHORNS!!! Um, u have crazy stats, and personally i know u’ll get in wherever u want. U would also get a full ride certain places if you step down your ambitions…

Trust, u’ll be fine, especially being an URM. I’m an URM as well. My older brother got into Washington University with a 1310 on his SAT’s good EC including leadership, like a 3.6/7 GPA… plus they gave him like a $25,000 scholarship per year, the rest in loans and grants, and he only has to pay about $3,000 a year out of pocket. Actually almost $0 out of pocket freshman year cause of outside scholarships

My general opinion of this board is that some of the people shoot WAY to high and have wrong ideas of what it takes to get places. Just make your self a well rounded individual, grades and scores are not everything (there very important) but you can get into even harvard with a 1350 (old test) if you have other things to offer them. Make yourself a person and not a machine, build a personality

Your being African American separates you from the rest of the pack. You have a very good chance (over 70%). Even if you were white, you would have a 50% chance. If you get Siemens Regional Finalist, the only thing that could keep you out would be acting very arrogant in the interview or writing the essays carelessly.
