my chances for admission 06? i'll wash your car if you reply

Male, Southern Indiana

SAT: 2130
CR: 690
Math: 640
Writing: 800
…I’m retaking them in November. Odds are in my favor that it will increase.

SAT II: Taking in Oct. (Math IIC and English Lit)

AP English Lit: 4

GPA: 3.8 unweighted
Class Rank: This is my only real negative, I’m 30/170. My class is competitive as hell, and the private school I go to doesn’t weigh GPA’s, so I can’t escape people who take easy classes and get good gpa’s. At any public school I’d definitely be top 10%.

I’m taking the hardest schedule possible.

EC’s

Wrestling - 3 years (2 years Varsity), Team State Qualifier/Placer all three years. Nationally recognized team. (20 hours a week x 15 weeks) Academic All-City, Individual Regional Qualifier
Football - 4 years (3 years Varsity), Conference Champs, Academic All-City (3 years) (17 hours a week x 16 weeks)
National Honor Society
Magna Cum Laude Honor Roll every semester
Founder/President of Fine Arts Club
Academic Super Bowl - 4 years, 3 years English captain
PEERS Project - 2 years, 2 years team captain
Several published poems/essays
Over 100 service hours

I’m applying for several state and federal grants to help improve my schools curriculum and clubs. I have a very legitimate chance of receiving it.

I have really good teacher rec’s and, because my strength is writing, I’m betting I’ll have a good essay.

I plan to major in english and psychology.

Duke is definitely my first-choice school.
Should I ED?

Also, should I be rejected, what are my chances at:
-Northwestern
-WashU
-UMich
-U Notre Dame
-Boston College
-Boston University
-Oberlin

if it’s definitely your first choice go ED for sure i’d say…and you’ve got a decent/good shot…

my car is the dark gray one parked in the blue lot straight in front of brodie…thanks

Your SAT I scores are a little low for Duke if you are not a URM. I would strongly consider taking the SAT I again and applying RD with higher scores. As for your other schools:

Northwestern - Reach
WashU - Reach
UMich - Match
U NotreDame - Match
BC - Slight reach
BU - Safety/match
Oberlin - match

Good luck!

BC is really a reatch?

I will be retaking SAT I’s…

is my class rank, despite my GPA and courseload, going to significantly hurt my chances?
