I think that the odds of scholarships like that at the major univeristies are pretty much a crap shoot. You have great grades and scores, but so will the rest of your competition. You have no better or worse chance of getting it than anyone else.

If you desperately need merit money to attend college, your best bet is to apply to BU but also to schools where the merit scholarships are automatic for every student with your stats.

Good luck!

You should apply and see…I don’t believe your scores on your AP tests will have any impact on your potential for the Trustee scholarship at BU. There is an application process and all components are due very early in the application process (I’m not sure of this year’s date…but it’s either late November or December 1…check the BU website).

Your admission to the school seems guaranteed. You will have good chance of the Trustee Scholarship as well. I was admitted to BU. Just that I can’t afford to go there. This is part of a letter written by the President of Boston University regarding Undergrad admission and information about increasing competition at BU.

“The increasing quality of our admitted students also makes the competition for undergraduate financial aid more intense than at any time in our history. For example, the average accepted student to our Trustee Scholars Program (the University’s highest merit-based financial aid award) has a GPA of 3.96, a three-test SAT score of 2292, and ranks in the top 2 percent of his or her high school class.”
