My chances for Cornell, UMich, GATech, UIUC, CMU etc. for CoE?

SAT II: 740 Chemistry last June (will probably retake for 800), 760 math 2 (will retake for 800)

AP Exams: AP Calculus BC: 5 (AB subscore: 5), AP Chemistry: 5, AP United States History: 5

High school: In New England, top feeder public for Harvard

Legacy: Double legacy to the University of Michigan, sibling and parent, both worked part time while taking classes at the university as well

EC:
Black belt in karate, have been doing for 10 years

Awards from the Royal Music Conservatory for piano

Swimming, have been doing for 10 years

Leader of the Asian Student Organization, raised 3,000 dollars for UNICEF Asia by holding a talent show, holds multiple school wide events over the year, launched a partnership with a nationwide boba tea chain

Part time job at a math tutoring organization, ~7 hours a week of work

GPA: [A in regular = 4.5, honors and AP As are 5.0, only math and language for honors allowed in freshman year , no APs allowed until junior year, no A+ exists]

Freshman year:

A in Chinese 3 Honors, A- Honors Freshman Math, A- in Regular Freshman English, B+ in Regular Freshman World History, A in Regular Physics and Engineering, A in robotics 1 and 2, A in Regular introduction to programming.

(Skipped a grade of math over the summer)

UMich is on record that they’ve “killed” legacy admissions. However, being a legacy MAY give you a bump in the “demonstrated interest” category of admissions.

Somehow, UMich will need to convert your GPA to a 4.0 scale. I’m not sure I follow there, though course rigor look fine. Did you take any AP’s in English?

The 34 on your ACT test puts you roughly at the median for UMich’s CoE.

FYI, there are only about 1,200 or less seats in each class for CoE, so make sure your essays convey the message that you want to be a Wolverine.

Lastly, UMich doesn’t superscore.
