Bump please

I feel that you have a decent shot at Duke. You have a pretty high ACT score that is definitely up to par with a lot of their other applicants. Also, your EC’s are extremely strong, particularly your leadership positions and your community service work.

Princeton, however, may be a bit of a reach with your scores. Although it is possible that your EC’s will make up for that.

Thanks! And bump for more opinions!

I agree with gibbons- you’re definitely competition for the other applicants. Princeton, maybe not, but I’d say you’re a match for Duke. Northwestern I’d say is a match too, if a high one. Screw GA Tech man, you can do better (and I’m totally not just saying that because I irrationally don’t trust any university with ‘teach’ in the name)

Haha Tech is my back up as it instate and i can probably get a full ride, however what about Vandy, Furman, UNC? and I’ll be applying to Duke in ED

UNC is a safety for you- hell, I’m considered a stupid kid according to CC but UNC is still a match for me.

I don’t think your ACT is high enough to be considered “Competitive” in any sense. Furthermore, you only had 250 volunteer hours which is no where near close to a good number such as 400.(Good as in “competitive”.) Your GPA is pathetic and you only took 11 AP Classes(Of course your school may have only offered 11 in which case it is not a big deal). At least your EC’s aren’t the worst of those who apply though, but your lacking in nearly every other category. UGA only accepts the best of the best kid not the laziest of the laziest. You might want to shoot for something a little lower than UGA, like maybe the Georgia State or North Georgia or something like that. You would probably get into the Georgia State to if you wrote good enough essays.

fchris13 is trolling on you.
here’s the real deal: i wouldn’t 100% count on duke, but you have a reasonable shot. MAKE YOURSELF STANDOUT w/ your personal statement! get good recs. these are the things they look at. it’s not just hard stats, the application process is holistic. Furthermore, consider other schools as well. UCLA, Berkeley, USC, Brown, Wash U are all fantastic top tier universities.

Thanks earlygrad13! I’m looking into schools that have a lot of research programs and funding for such so those schools definitely help!
