Great Recos from princeton and school.

Really amazing essays.

What do you think my chances are if im applyin early D
and What major? Engineering or Econ?

A reach, but it is possible. How do the SAT’s break out?

I just thought i’d mention, Chicago only has an early action program, which allows you to apply early to other places, although I think it still helps chances to apply EA.

Just wanted to let you know, chicago doesn’t have engineering! (Great econ, though)

Is SAT really important?

SAT isn’t everything but it does help alot to have a good score. A 2300 won’t guarentee admission but a 1000 will really hurt your chances.

So its important as a component of the criteria colleges look for in its applicants but by itself it doesn’t have all that much importance.

Chicago doesn’t sound like the best match for you. Are you mostly interested because of the econ department? Maybe you should consider MIT, Cornell, U of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins. Your GPA is very low for top schools, but you do have a lot of achievement in inventions and may be able to explain it away to some extent.

Thats one of the advantages of Chicago is that GPA can sortta be countered by their essays. I’ve heard quite a lot of stories about low GPA with insane essays gets in rather than High GPA and not-too good essays!

I know Johns Hopkins for Med but I haven’t heard of it for economics! Is it good for economics?
