Essays: Some of the best I’ve written

Rec’s:
-One from a solid alumni
-One from Pat Tillman’s brother (Pat Tillman was the football player who died in Afghanistan)
-Teacher and Couns Recs are solid

You’re right I probably should not have posted that, however, I am under no circumstances using his death to get into college. I wrote a speech on how Pat Tillman was probably the most heroic man of this generation…his brother saw it and offered to write me a reccomendation. I apologize if I offended you.

Don’t worry about Ryan, he finds a lot of things offensive. I see no problem in using his rec, especially if he OFFERED to write you one. He obviously liked your speech and what’s wrong with him helping a kid he liked get into college? I see no problem. As to whether or not he is the most heroic man of our generation, I’d definitely beg to differ. I’m guessing you’re a conservative, but oh well there’s hope for you yet. I’d be shocked if you were defferred. Near lock.

Haha…thanks for the support. Acutually, I’m a pretty big liberal, and if you look at Pat Tillman’s diary so was he…That’s what made him heroic I thought.

Hey now, I only find things offensive that seem offensive. I realize now that I was (partially) wrong, but I’m not going to apologize for either of your bad tact.

On that note (sorry for being so negative), I would question the link between your $5,000 donation and an offer to write a recommendation letter. I’m not implying that you did anything unethical, but the way you presented your stats leads to such speculation.

The rest of your stats are impressive (I envy your SAT IIs), and I’m sure you application was more detailed.

Jake–I gotta agree w/ Akajjred on this one–I’d be surprised if you were deferred, you got the ECs and the scores. Good luck! (Hope to see you there)

have you ever seen the chappelle show about when “keeping it real” goes wrong?? lol i hope so, it makes the joke about 29384029384 times more hilarious
ps please tell me you’ve seen high school musical by now
pps i love the fact that this forum is liberal-city. it makes me feel like i fit in :)

anyway, jake you’re chances are probably pretty darn good. did you apply EA?

Lol, I don’t watch the Chapelle show because my teammate copies ALL his jokes from it and I’ve basically already seen each show. I’m so *ing tired of hearing “I’m Rick James !” Chapelle’s stand up is hilarious though. I forgot to see high school musical, my aunt and cousin were just talking about it at Thanksgiving too. Yea, too bad the rest of the country isn’t liberal.

Atleast you guys are in California!
Man…I’m stuck with Sonny Purdue as governor of GA.
And Cobb County (where I live) is a pioneer of eradicating all mention of evolution in biology textbooks! ACH!
Sorry if that sounds like bragging, trust me–I’m NOT!!

Hey it’s not so bad because you need to remember that it is harder to get into gtown from CA than from GA. My counselor always says that the single best thing my parents have done for my college career is to move me to Georgia for high school.

you just keep on telling yourself that, if it makes you happy ;)

Wouldn’t be funny if we ALL ended up at Gtown? We would be like, “Hey Voguepanda! Hey Akajjred!” People would be looking at us like, “***?” Haha that would make me laugh.

Um…I was going to argue with you and say GA is the best…but it’s not…I’d rather be in CALI.
Especially San Fransisco. Thats one of my favorite cities.
I hope we all get in! Although we wouldnt know who eachother was.

Well GA isn’t the best, but I would never move back to LA now…it is soooooooooooooooooo crowded. I would much rather live in Washington, D.C. ;)

Oh man, the only in-state school I’m applying to is Tech, because my parents are making me apply to one in-state school, I’m getting OUT OF THE SOUTH if it kills me! I can’t wait!
