Also applying for General and undeclared Engineering and I am an out of state High school student.

oops my chance for UICC lolol

You mean UIUC?

UIUC non-engineering: Reach
UIUC engineering: Reach (GPA way too low)

Get yourself a safety!

really? Cappex and parchment both said 71 percent…

I wouldn’t put too much weight on Cappex or Parchment. Sure, their Naviance-style graphs are representative of the students applying at many of the major Us, but that’s not looking the whole picture.

I assumed UIUC looked at unweighted but perhaps these two computerized chancers were swayed by a big discrepancy between unweighted and weighted GPA. UIUC isn’t Virginia Tech, which strictly works with weighted GPAs. But, if UIUC does put more weight towards weighted GPAs than unweighted ones:

UIUC General: Match
UIUC Engineering (undeclared): Reach

UIUC puts more weight onto which helps the student better.

Even with “GPA choice” (using the better of unweighted or weighted GPA to make an admissions decision) a 1740 SAT is a little low for Engineering undeclared. You would want a 29+ ACT for best chance, given your weighted GPA.

also Holistic admission…

ECs have to count for something.

UIUC General: Low match
UIUC Engineering: High match

bump bump bump
