<p>How are my chances for getting in? I have been to 4 different high schools but have kept up at least some rigor (always have at least one honors class). I had a bad year my sophomore year but my current GPA is a 4.4. My ACT is a 30 currently with a 10 in writing. Also, I am concidered as someone who has a disability because I am blind in my left eye. My parent’s want me to apply for early decision but I am not sure that it is worth it because my GPA and ACT don’t even meet the criteria. What are my chances with my disability and all? My parents and my counselor say that my chances would be high just because of my eye.</p>

<p>If you apply early decision your chances of getting into any school are a lot higher. I think you’d have a good chance of getting in, even if your GPA and scores are a little low. I don’t think they have a special application, though. Are you going to write about your disability in your essay?</p>
<p>Yes that is what my common app essay is about. And why do you say I have a good chance of getting in? just because the admission rate for early decision is 50%?</p>
<p>Yep! Applying ED shows that you really love a college, which makes you much more likely to get accepted.</p>
<p>this might also be a stupid question but some colleges care about ethnicity and I am a mix of asian (indian, afghani) and white (iranian). On my application should I check both? or only one? and if so, which one? I heard recently that saying you are asian gives you a lower chance of acceptance than white.</p>
