Im looking at colgate, emory, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Umich, Hamilton, Binghamton, and Wake Forest. I have a 3.88 gpa unweighted and a 4.0 weighted at Manhasset High school, which ranks in the top 100 public high schools in American consistently. I got a 32 on my act: 32 english, 35 math, 29 reading, 30 science. Im taking my act again in september and my superscore remains to be a 32. I also got an 11 and 10 on both of my essays( Idk if that helps much). I took 3 AP classes this year: English, Apush and Psychology. I didn’t do that well on the APs by getting 2 3s and a 5. I took the US subject test and got a 700.
I did crew for two years at my school and placed 7th in the state final my freshmen year. I work on Saturdays with kids with disabilities and help out a program that invites these kids to have some fun by going swimming and bowling. I participate in 3 different clubs in school and i am the vice president of one of them. Also, I am in the National Honor Society and Music honor society. My senior year I plan to be in a couple more honor societies.

I think it’s safe to say you can definitely get into Binghamton.
what do you think about the other colleges?? I know that vanderbilt is an obv super reach
You have a huge advantage for top rated schools that are not need blind-like Wash U.

UCLA is a reach unless you can make yourself appear more dynamic. Your academics seem good, but the rest of your profile reads the same as the thousands that apply each year. Let’s try to separate you from the crowd a little.
UCLA is a UC. This means the school is under a “hurry-up” mandate and will want people who can finish in 4 years.
In your essays, talk about your time on crew and your work with the disabled. But also: choose a major and explain your choice. Tell the committee that you’re interested in pursing research, can finish your program quickly (“quickly” means in 4 years), and would like to continue with graduate studies later on. If you write well and proofread your essays carefully, UCLA will become a match.
