<p>I met Obama via my volunteer work and i have a picture of me and the first family</p>
<p>do you think that showing them the pciture of me and the fisrt family will improve my odds?</p>

<p>No. It would be a an awkward moment, for certain. Thousands upon thousands of people meet “important” people every year. A photo means next to nothing and would be a very strange thing to want to reveal or brag about from the perspective of a committee member looking at your scholarship file.</p>
<p>^^ have to agree - my reaction to your producing the photo in that situation would be a mental “okaaaay”, & not in a good way (and I am a big fan of the president and his lovely family). The volunteer work you did is the important thing here, not a photo of you meeting the 1st family.</p>
<p>Don’t even TAKE the picture with you. That was a lucky photo op for you. Your volunteer work should be your focus not a picture with anyone.</p>
<p>I’ll vote “No” also. It would make you look like a social climber. You can wait until they ask you an interview question along the lines of “tell us about your volunteer work” and then you can describe your work and say it was a real honor to be photographed with the First Family. But if they, instead, ask about your latest science project, then stick to the topic they designate.</p>
