i know my scores are rather low, but maybe i have a shot? what do you think?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure that there aren’t any private schools in Cerritos… But anyways back to the point. Being validvictorian or however you spell it is pretty special. But at any top school, such as Duke, there are going to be lots of validvictorians also. Judging from your previous posts, you are also aiming for stanford and top UCs. While your gpa will help you at the UCs, at the top schools, especially private ones, your SAT scores tend to matter more because everyone has a good gpa. Your SAT scores help the admissions officers see if your school had severe grade inflation. Since you are chinese, you have a slight disadvantage because of your race. Although you have good ecs, your test scores bring you down. You might be better off at a small liberal arts college, as they look at the applicant as a “whole.” You do have pretty good SAT 2 scores, so that might just show adcoms that you are very knowledgable, but you just aren’t a good test taker. It might have helped you if you took the act and got above a 30, which is equivalent to a 2000 on the SAT, since the ACT measures “how much you know” while the SAT measures your “critical thinking and reasoning abilities.” Maybe if you were a low income student who couldn’t afford any prep it would help, but I guess it all boils down to your essays and teacher/counselor recs. Good luck though

Heh heh… valedictorian
